\u2026is a sailing catamaran named after the island in the Dodecanese archipelago near Rhodes that I visited during my first Greek \u201cisland-hopping vacation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SYMI (pronounced like \u201csee me\u201d) is a boat built by the French shipyard \u201cFountaine-Pajot\u201d that is 12 meters long and nearly 7 meters wide. It weighs 9 metric tons.\nIt has two 30HPS marine diesel engines from VOLVO Penta and is equipped with 1600W solar panels. This solar energy is stored in a total of 1100 Ah lithium batteries.\nFor our autonomous water supply, we have a desalination system that provides us with both utility and drinking water.
