Dear friends of SailingSymi,\n\nThe time has finally come. The weather forecast shows a window that isn\u2019t perfect, but is acceptable
, and we\u2019ve decided to set sail from Norfolk into the Atlantic tomorrow, Saturday, May 9, 26, at 7:00 a.m. We\u2019ve checked, secured, and prepared just about everything on board, so SYMI should be ready. We met a French couple with their dog \u201cRoxy\u201d on their boat , who plan to set sail at the same time as us. We\u2019re meeting up for a beer at our place at 6:00 p.m. tonight, and we\u2019ll both set sail early tomorrow morning.\nOn Tuesday night, a strong rain front with heavy winds is set to hit us (too bad it\u2019s at night, but oh well\u2026). Symi and we will weather it. If we hadn\u2019t taken advantage of tomorrow\u2019s opportunity to set sail, we would have been stuck here for another 10 days.\nJust so you know: You can follow us live on a map that shows our direction, speed, and the wind around us.
