Dear friends of SailingSymi,
The time has finally come. The weather forecast shows a window that isn’t perfect, but is acceptable
, and we’ve decided to set sail from Norfolk into the Atlantic tomorrow, Saturday, May 9, 26, at 7:00 a.m. We’ve checked, secured, and prepared just about everything on board, so SYMI should be ready. We met a French couple with their dog “Roxy” on their boat , who plan to set sail at the same time as us. We’re meeting up for a beer at our place at 6:00 p.m. tonight, and we’ll both set sail early tomorrow morning.
On Tuesday night, a strong rain front with heavy winds is set to hit us (too bad it’s at night, but oh well…). Symi and we will weather it. If we hadn’t taken advantage of tomorrow’s opportunity to set sail, we would have been stuck here for another 10 days.
Just so you know: You can follow us live on a map that shows our direction, speed, and the wind around us. You’ll find the link on the first page in the menu bar under
Just click on the globe and you’ll be right there with us…
Keep your fingers crossed…
We’ll be in touch.
Fair Winds
